About the program

Build a safety decision from work evidence: trace harm, test controls and propose an action with an owner, due point and closure evidence. Lessons cover all eleven syllabus elements through original fictional Arab-region cases and exercises with independent solutions. You interpret culture, human factors, investigation and monitoring, then assess health, handling, substances, workplace conditions, machines, fire and electricity. Mock feedback supports preparation; NEBOSH and its accredited Learning Partners retain official registration, learning and assessment requirements.

Practical relevance

Produce decision memos, responsibility matrices, risk rows, isolation and handover plans and response tests from sufficient fictional data without disclosing confidential employer information.

Why this program

Connect what you know with what you can justify in a scenario and write in a usable risk record, distinguishing facts, assumptions and the limits of legal conclusions.

Career relevance

Useful for supervisors, team managers and safety entrants who discuss controls with operations, maintenance and contractors. Completion does not confer professional licensure or independent specialist status.

What you will learn

  • Justify improvements, allocate roles and distinguish international principles from domestic law.
  • Evaluate management systems, culture, investigation and monitoring using conflicting evidence.
  • Identify health, musculoskeletal, chemical and biological exposure and select controls.
  • Assess movement, height, machinery, fire and electricity and build an integrated action plan.
Learning outcomes (11)
  1. Justify a safety improvement from evidence and allocate client-contractor roles within legal limits.
  2. Evaluate a management cycle and draft policy objectives tied to controls, tests and responsibility.
  3. Interpret culture indicators, diagnose behavioural factors and test an intervention addressing work causes.
  4. Produce a risk assessment and control change, permits, isolation and emergencies for the stated task.
  5. Analyse an incident and select monitoring, audit and management-review action with closure evidence.
  6. Distinguish physical and psychological exposure and choose controls and checks protecting people and privacy.
  7. Redesign handling and repetitive tasks and plan a lift across load, equipment and site.
  8. Trace chemical or biological exposure, evaluate information and measurement and select source control.
  9. Assess site conditions, traffic, height, lone work and space hazards and test access and response.
  10. Select machinery protection, maintenance, multi-source isolation and verifiable safe handback.
  11. Assess fire and electricity and assemble an integrated, prioritised risk action plan with limits.

Who it is for

  • Supervisors, team managers, occupational safety entrants and International General Certificate candidates seeking structured review and practice in reasoning and practical assessment. Examples suit service, maintenance, warehousing and production settings at an introductory professional level. Experienced specialists need deeper sources for engineering design or clinical and legal decisions; this course cannot replace hazardous-task training or official accreditation.

Prerequisites

  • You need professional reading comprehension, basic familiarity with work activities, and the ability to compare facts, write short notes and calculate simple ratios. Previous safety qualifications are not required for this preparatory content. A device for reading and recording answers is sufficient. Review NEBOSH and Learning Partner requirements separately before external registration, including the language standard for your chosen assessment.

What it does not offer

  • Performing electrical work, confined-space entry or asbestos removal without suitable competence and supervision.
  • Obtaining the NEBOSH credential merely by passing a platform assessment.

How the route works

Professional Certification Preparation programs help learners prepare for a recognized external certification through structured knowledge, review, practice questions, and readiness assessments. Arab Platform for Professional Studies (ARPS) does not administer the certification owner's official exam.

Structured self-paced study aligned to the current external certification scope, with knowledge review, practice questions, readiness checks, and internal mock assessments.

  • Focused preparation for a specific external certification.
  • Content aligned to the current official exam scope when available.
  • Practice questions and internal readiness assessments.
  • Clear separation between Arab Platform for Professional Studies (ARPS) preparation and the official external exam.

Assessment

The route includes an internal assessment for Arab Platform for Professional Studies (ARPS) completion eligibility and separate mock/readiness assessments that are not the external official exam.

Assessment attempts: 2 per assessment, 7 days apart

The pass mark is announced before the program is published.

Certificate

The Arab Platform for Professional Studies (ARPS) credential confirms completion of the preparation program only; the target professional certification requires passing the external issuer's examination under its rules.

Every certificate has a public verification code. Verify a certificate

Verification example: a real issued certificate

Disclaimer: Any internal completion credential records preparation only; it is not a NEBOSH qualification, professional licence or endorsement.

Program questions

Is this official NEBOSH training?

This is independent preparation. NEBOSH and an accredited Learning Partner govern official registration, learning and assessment; no partnership or endorsement is claimed.

How will I practise GIC2?

Write risk rows and an action plan from original cases, then compare them with solutions and criteria. The official assessment needs workplace evidence and current issuer instructions; fiction does not replace it.

Does the mock guarantee external success?

The mock identifies gaps in this content only. It does not predict an official mark or use protected NEBOSH questions.

Does the course use retired IG1 material?

Scope follows the 2025 specification and GIC1/GIC2. Recheck current issuer instructions before external assessment; the retired IG1 blueprint is not the alignment basis.

Does it determine the law of my workplace?

It explains international principles and practical controls and identifies where domestic checks are needed. A fictional case cannot establish a real site’s legal compliance.

Do exercises require a real workplace?

These exercises supply sufficient fictional facts. Official GIC2 work follows its own workplace, evidence and submission instructions, verified with your Learning Partner.
